Courier’s companion

TU Delft, course Interactive Technology Design 2020

How could the van of the future (in 2030) be more of a companion to couriers?
Through a weekly iterative process we had to come up with an interactive prototype that would make the van more of a companion to the couriers. One afternoon we would conceptualise, while another day we would prototype (part of) the concept, test it, and take those lessons into next week’s conceptualisation session. In the end we came up with a redesign for the entire delivery system using consolidated delivery. To see the final design you can press the button below. To see the iterations from week to week scroll through the galleries.

The process

Feel free to flip through a part of our process. These are concept cards we delivered on a weekly basis in order to keep iteration pace high. To see how I reflected on each week, see the slideshow below.

The final design

All the components of this future vision

To visualise, understand and design this future, we mapped out the entire logistical system in seperate journeys with seperate touchpoints. To see what each of those journeys looks like, feel free to press the FCDP logo below to go to the final exhibition page.

Final exhibition

The final exhibition was held digitally due to COVID-19. To see what that looked like, and to see the final design even more in depth with all its different aspects, press the logo below.
